Porto Wine

Colheita 1950

Colheita 1950

This Vieira de Sousa Porto comes exclusively from the year 1950. This Porto wine is very special as it was bottled to celebrate our mother's 70th birthday in 2020. It is a fantastic example of an aged Tawny Porto.

Vinification

The year 1950 was characterized by a harsh winter and a rainy summer. Due to these conditions, the harvest was delayed but proceeded under perfect conditions. This wine fermented in the family’s old stone lagares. After fortification with grape spirit, the wine aged in a tonel and casks.

Notas de prova

Beautiful brown color with a brown rim and a hint of green — characteristics of an old Tawny Porto. On the nose, a wine from another era, yet very lively. This wine shows exceptional quality, with high aromatic complexity, concentration, balance, and a long finish.
