Porto Wine

Colheita Branco 2003

Colheita Branco 2003

Our 'first' white single harvest is from 2003, a special Porto aged separately in a single cask all these years. Produced with grapes from our white grape vineyards in the Celeirós area. These were vineyards located at 500m altitude, with a traditional field blend of grape varieties maintained in the traditional way. These vineyards no longer exist, having been restructured, which makes this single harvest even more interesting and special for us. It is a record of the past.

Vinification

This wine was vinified in our Celeirós lagares, with foot treading and skin contact, just as is done for red grapes. This prolonged contact is important for the wine's complexity and aging capacity in an oxidative environment. After the addition of grape brandy, it began its slow aging process in casks in our cellars.

Tasting Notes

It is a delicate wine, full of complexity and history to savor. An oxidized color from wood aging, accompanied by a prolonged crisp acidity on the palate.
